Records dating back
The department works to not only increase awareness of and access to collections and materials but also to partner with local communities to help share their stories.
During the past few years, the digital services team has been digitizing materials from other libraries, archives, museums, and historical societies from across the state.

Many archives regularly take in new records to add to their collections – this process is known as accessioning.Historians, scholars, friends groups, and open space advocates are among these who now have a window into the past as the records of the Boston Parks Commission have been digitized and put online through the Boston Public Library’s digital services team.
