Dating rola speakers
It looks like you are visiting our site on a browser that is really old.Unfortunately, this means you can't get the full experience. This page is a collection of odds and ends information relating to speakers and speaker implementation.
Speakers made before the 1970s only have one digit representing the year which is misleading. To submit your questions or ideas, or to simply learn more about It Still Works, contact us.Since 1956, all Celestion chassis drivers have been stamped with a datecode (two numbers and two letters), denoting exact date of manufacture. The codes are added on the production line and are stamped on the speaker's chassis leg, on the front gasket or for later speakers, printed onto an id label stuck onto the magnet's edge.
If you can track down the datecode, simply refer to the following set of tables, which provide an accurate record of the date codes used throughout the years.
If you do not see a sticker look for engraved numbers on the back surface of the speaker or turn the speaker over and inspect for numbers. The first three digits indicate the maker of the speakers.
